College admissions representatives across the US and Canada will share valuable information about their institutions throughout the months of September, October and into early November. Attending these sessions will help you learn about their application process, academics, and campus culture. Most college rep visits include a short info session followed by a Q&A. This is especially important to attend if you don't think you can tour their campus in person.
Identify your non-negotiables when considering colleges and allow that list to guide you as you listen during these info sessions.
Do a quick search about the college beforehand so you can have a more meaningful conversation. It's not always necessary but it's great if you have a few questions prepared.
Remember that our school counselors are a great resource to help assist you through the college decision and application process.
If you cannot attend a session, let Ms. Armes know that you would like to get connected with the rep to ask questions. We can also request brochure materials for you.
Thoughtful questions are always appreciated. These reps are here for you to gather insight before you decide to apply. They are well versed on topics like academics, the application process, and school culture.
The number of students who attend a rep visit vary across the board. Sometimes it will be a full room and other times it may just be you. Smaller groups allow for more questions so be sure to get their email if time runs short.
Sign up here to attend more College Rep Visits hosted at Freeport HS! This gives you a chance to see how schools differ in academics, financial aid and student life.
If it's possible, visit the campus in person. If it's a financial stretch to make that work, ask their admissions office if there is any financial assistance. Some colleges have been known to cover transportation and lodging fees! Once you have boots on the ground, you will know if it's going to be the right fit for you.
Interested juniors and seniors should sign up using this form (below) or stop by the Guidance Office for more info. Please check back frequently as we continue to add and update our list of visiting colleges throughout the fall. Check in with Guidance for in-person room locations (subject to change). If you need to be excused from class to attend one of our information sessions, you may pick up a slip from Ms. Armes in the guidance office prior to attending any of our info sessions.
If you are a college rep looking to book a visit with Freeport High School, please use our appointment scheduler. We look forward to seeing you in the fall!
Freeport High School hosts an annual Semester Abroad/Gap/Summer Information Fair in the fall. Typically these enrichment programs are geared towards sophomores, juniors, seniors, and for those who want to experience the world before entering college or the workforce. Want to learn more about studying abroad and available scholarships? Ask your counselor where to begin or chat with these visiting program reps in person at our 2026 Enrichment Program Fair on Thursday, November 12, 2026.
Each military branch is welcome to setup a booth in our lunch room during the fall semester to discuss career opportunities with prospective students. Students are encouraged to stop by their booth to ask questions with a recruiter about their programs of study and so much more! Their visit schedule will be announced in the FHS Announcements.
