HOW TO JOIN BAND
Incoming 6th, 7th & 8th grade welcome! The sixth grade is the ideal time to join band, but if you’re joining as a 7th/8th grader then it’s no problem; just understand that your classmates will be mostly 6th graders. If you’re good enough at the semester we can try to move you up into the Advanced Bands.
Decide if BAND is right for you. The band program at Cedar Valley is outstanding in every way and it’s a great organization to be a member of. Talk it over with your family. It’s okay if you’re not completely sure what to play. Look around our website, email the directors if you have questions and talk to older kids you know in band.
Watch the videos below of each instrument to hear what they sound like. Choose the three instruments you’re most interested in playing. All of the instruments are unique and fun to play!
