The Cloud Studio is a flexible shared workspace/critique room for students in Open Media Senior Studio/Critical Discourse. Setting up and maintaining a functioning studio, while working in close proximity to others, is a crucial skillset for artists to master. Professional studio etiquette is essential and required in the Cloud Studio.
This room may be used by students currently enrolled in Open Media Senior Studio/Critical Discourse, and who have paid a $150 deposit for key access.
Students with access may not let unauthorized persons into the room to work unattended.
If anyone other than students in Open Media Senior Studio/Critical Discourse are found working in the studio, please alert the Instructor and/or Bob Vennerbeck immediately.Â
Contact Campus Security immediately if you feel at all threatened by a stranger in the studio.
Do not remove flats, lights, chairs or other equipment from this room to use elsewhere. Also, do not remove flats, lights, stands, speakers, monitors, etc. from other studios to use in the Cloud Studio without permission.
Do not paint or otherwise alter the infrastructure of the space without advance permission of the instructor, after which the student is responsible for returning the space to its previous state.
Always use drop cloths and tidy up after working with messy materials and sweep up after using hand tools.
There is no aerosol use (including spray painting) in the Cloud Studio or stairwell.
Before a student leaves the studio, they must dispose of their trash and leave the studio organized and clean.
Make sure both doors are locked, and turn the ventilation on when you are the last person to leave.
You may only leave items that are related to your work in the studio.
The department reserves the right to revoke access from students who abuse these policies or let unauthorized people into the space.
