2. Complete the 'Combination Key'.

2. Make an ad for this product outlining it's special features. Include how it is used and where to access this new tool/device.

Week 7 - 8:

Focus: How does our fundraising in NZ impact food and way of life for a child in Malawi?

Begin planning DLO to be shared next week Monday 10am. DLO rubric linked to at bottom of page. The big idea around this DLO is to summarise learning to date, be creative in your sharing!

Thinkers Keys: there are 20 in total. We will begin with 2 keys.

1. Combination Key: Place the names of some things down the side of a matrix (eg laptop, mobile phone, printer), and then place other names of objects along the top (eg pencils, chocolates, spoons). Then create all-new objects by combining 'side' thins with 'top' things.

2. BAR Key: Use the 3 steps of BAR to make some changes to an object eg a mobile phone.

B= Bigger. Make one part bigger, or more important in terms of its usage

A=Add. Place an extra part or object onto the phone.

R= Replace. Take one thins away, and replace it with something else.

Week 4 -6 : Extension group cancelled due to teacher PLD

Week 2 - 3:

Google presentation of daily menu and activities for children in Aotearoa and Malawi.

Blog post about Malawi and Aotearoa menu and activities (typical daily meals and activities for children)

The post will contain link to google presentation and comparisons and contrast:

Comparison and contrast are ways of looking at objects, events, practices etc and thinking about how they are alike and different.

For instance, our menus are alike because they are kinds of food, but there are many ways that they are different. For instance, they belong to different food groups. Some must be cooked before eating, and some can be eaten raw.

When you write up your comparisons and contrast, you will pay attention to these kinds of details. Using these details what conclusion can you draw?

Include this in your conclusion of your blog post.

Diary:

*You need to keep a record of your daily activities including meals over the next 4 weeks. This is an important part of our investigations that will lead us into learning more about our living habits in comparison to the children we will be supporting through the 20 hour famine.

**Learn: using keywords find out more about what a child in Malawi does and eats in a typical day,

makes notes of what you find in a google doc titled 'Malawi your name'

***Create:

1.Menu for a child in Aotearoa (your typical dinner)

2.Menu for a child in Malawi

Remember to include extra details in your menu to help the diner understand where the foods come from and any extra detail you think would be interesting or important to know.

Home learning:

We will have permission slips and booklets ready for our team beginning of term 2.
