Tuition Reimbursement

In accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:6-8.5, an employee shall obtain approval from the Superintendent of Schools prior to enrollment in any course for which tuition assistance is sought. In the event the Superintendent denies the approval, the employee may appeal the denial to the Board of Education.

P.E.A. Support Staff should contact the Superintendent's Office for the appropriate forms.

PROCEDURES FOR TUITION REIMBURSEMENT

  • Complete the form for pre-approval and submit to the Superintendent’s office by the deadline:

    • September 15th for summer/fall

    • February 1st for winter/spring

  • Employee will be notified of Superintendent's decision to approve or deny the request within five business days.

  • If approved, tuition reimbursement will be made to the employee once evidence of successful course completion and proof of payment is provided, in accordance with the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
