Functions Statistics and Trigonometry
Welcome to FST. In this course we will review concepts from Algebra I/II and explore them more deeply as well as learn more advanced Algebraic concepts, including Trigonometry. I look forward to helping each student meet their goals in this class.
If you are late you need to have a note from a member of the faculty.
Unexcused Tardies will result in a 0% for any work missed while out of class.
2. No electronic devices are to be used during class. Use will result in confiscation and parental/A.P. notification. Your device will be returned at the end of the school day. Refusal to relinquish the device when asked will be treated as insubordination and immediate referral to the A.P.
3. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. All students are expected to respect one another and the teacher.
Students must bring a writing utensil (preferably a pencil), a separate math notebook to class everyday.
Students should have a scientific calculator.
Daily assignments can be expected and must be submitted by the due date unless you have an excused absence, whereby the assignment will be due the class after you return. Assignments will be checked/collected randomly. When assignments are not collected it is the students responsibility to make sure the concepts practiced in the assignment understood. Time, at the beginning of class, will be allotted for discussion/clarification. To receive full credit for homework, students must show ALL work.
Late work will be accepted until the end of the unit the work was to be
completed in.
Quizzes and tests will be given regularly. Tests are cumulative. During assessments students are not allowed to talk, leave their seat, look in the direction of other students, or have unauthorized study materials. A violation of any of these rules will result in immediate forfeiture of the test, a grade of zero, and a phone call to parents.
Quizzes may be retaken ONCE and completed before the day of the unit test.
Tests may NOT be retaken.
Grades
Quarter grades will be determined by adding the total number of points earned in a marking period and dividing by the total possible points. This will result in approximately the following percentages:
Homework 10%
Quizzes 40% **Can be retaken ONCE for a higher grade, must be done
prior to the end of the unit of study.
Exams 50%
Semester grades are according to the following percentages:
Q1 = 45%
Q2 = 45%
SE = 10% (Semester exams will be cumulative)
