CEI 2015 Student Evaluation

Students Evaluation (extracted from the daily reflection of students)

P6 Lun Ho Him

I hope I can make friends from different countries in the conference. I need to be brave and don’t worry about my English. I need to be independent in this trip. I need to take care of myself. I cannot rely on the secondary school students. Luckily, this is not my first time to leave home without my parents. I went Cheung Chau and Australia before.

Also, I hope I can learn different culture of countries. For example, I can learn more about Lisbon culture and special things about Portugal. I can know more about the everyday life of people in Portugal and try tasting the local food. I would like to try some special seafood and drinks in Portugal too.

Before the presentations, I was really scared because I worried that I would suddenly say something wrongly and I don’t know what to do. I was a little bit sad because today after our presentations, people in the room asked us some questions. I knew what they asked about, but I couldn’t answer the questions quickly in a few seconds. I couldn’t think of any ideas and I didn’t know whether it was right or wrong. I must learn more from senior students.

Today, we had our first presentation in a classroom. There were Portuguese, Mexican, Russian, Turkish and Hongkongers. We were the first to present our project on Marine Parks and Microplastics. The entire presentation went quite smoothly, though there was a word that I just couldn’t get it right at the first few times.

S3 Choy Yi Ting

CEI (Youth Conference of Caretakers of the Environment International) is an interesting program. It is a great chance for us to learn more from classmates and foreigners. Today, we are still having some small mistakes during our presentation, but I hope if it comes to the second session of presentation after two days, we can do the best! I expect everyone in my team know about their role, being more matured and independent. I believe we could take care of each other well and have a memorable experience.

There were also many exciting games in this conference. One of the most memorable games I played was that we formed two straight lines, face to face, and introduced ourselves to each another by turning to the right. It was in fact a challenging game for me as it totally depended on my social skills. Otherwise I would have no words to introduce myself quickly. Other than that, we joined several field trips and outdoor activities that were really exciting and enjoyable.
