Lesson Duration: 45 minutes
Engagement:
The teacher will introduce the Student Interview Activty (First5Days File 3.1). The teacher will pair students to conduct the student interviews
Exploration:
Students will use the Student Interview Activty (First5Days File 3.1) to introduce their partner to the class. Each student will introduce their partner to the class as a way to create a collaborative learning environment
Explanation:
The teacher will distribute the syllabus (First5Days File 3.2). The teacher will review the syllabus with the class. The teacher will review established class policies. The teacher will review acceptable levels of performance for Above Target, On Target and Below Target.
Extension:
Students will have their parents/guardians sign the syllabus as homework. The signed portion of the syllabus must be returned to the teacher.
Evaluation:
The student's knowledge, skills and attitudes are assessed through formative teacher observations and questioning.
