SketchUp is a 3D drafting and design Program.
It is a Free download from google.

In this unit you will do several assignments, each designed to teach you new tools and concepts.
If you get caught cheating on a sketchup assignment, your grade on ALL PRIOR SKETCHUP ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE CHANGED TO 0. You will have an opportunity to redo slightly different assignments to earn your grade back.
#1: Basic Shapes
Introduction to sketchup.
New tools and Concepts: Orbit, Pan, Zoom,
X-ray.
Look at the buttom of the page for the
assignment attachment.
SketchUp Hints:
* Always manually enter the dimensions of any shape you make
This will save you a lot of trouple later.
* SAVE OFTEN. I save after each major step.
* Use different names when you save. Ex: JoesPipes V1, JoesPipes V2,..
That way, if something goes wrong, you can revert to the last saved
version.
* CTRL Z. Undo your last step (works in most programs)
* Edit -> Undo. (Alt BackSpace). Undo multible steps.
* Esc. Stops your current action.
There are great tutorial videos on YouTube that explains how to do just about anything in SketchUp, for example how to use a specific tool.
#2: Pile of Pipes
New tools and Concepts: Arrays, Selection methods. Move, rotate, and offset tools.
Look at the buttom of the page for the

Your name MUST be on every pipe for
checkoff.
#3: 1x1 Lego
New tools and Concepts: Dimension and tape measure tools.
Look at the buttom of the page for the
assignment attachment.
Your name MUST appear under the LEGO logo for checkoff.
Both the 1x1 and 2x4 LEGOS must be drawn on a millimeter template for checkoff
#4: 2x4 Lego
New tools and Concepts: Line division.
In addition, this is more complicated version of previous assignments.

Your name MUST appear under EACH
LEGO logo AND be watermarked according to the instructions for checkoff.
Both the 1x1 and 2x4 LEGOS must be drawn on a millimeter template for checkoff
#5: Greek temple #1
New tools and Concepts: Equal linear spacing for arrays. polygon tool.

Your name MUST appear on EACH pillar AND be watermarked according to the instructions for checkoff.
#6: Greek temple #2
New tools and Concepts: Equal rotational spacing for arrays. Components.
Look at the buttom of the page for the
assignment attachment.
Your name MUST appear on EACH pillar AND be watermarked according to the instructions for checkoff.
Make sure you SAVE this assignment. You will need it later for a SketchyPhysics assignment.
#7: Odd Shapes
New tools and Concepts: Arc. Scale, and Follow Me tools.

#8: House Design
New tools and Concepts: The warehouse.
Design a house to live in during your high school years. Your house must include:
* Bedroom
* Bathroom
* Kitchen
* Livingroom
* Study Area
* Paint ALL surfaces
* Min. 5 see-through glass windows
* Outside door

Your house MUST be in the shape of your Initial of your first OR last name. Ex "H" for Henry.
This assignment may become too big to
e-mail as an attachment.
