Remember that you were introduced to a five step process that expanded into the 12 step.
The 5 steps cover the Engineering Design Process in general. The 12 steps dig down deep into the specifics of the process. Other versions of the Engineering Design process range between 4 and 16 steps. Different organizations choose different versions that work for them. For example: IB's Middle Years Programme, NASA, Teachengineering.com. For this class, you will use our 12 step process, but it is important to understand the purpose of the process and what needs to be accomplished by all of the steps.
You will research and explain what the Engineering Design Process is by answering these questions:
What is it?
What purpose does it have?
Are there other methods?
Is there only one version?
What are the steps both in general and the ones we use in our class? List and explain
We have used the Engineering Design process in our classes. Give some examples: documents, pictures or videos?
