Final Spring -- BRING OR BORROW a TI-83 for the test—graph scatter plots
Create a mapping including example problems, & formulas for all topics below. Creating the map is a 5 point in class activity. Remember to consider when to use what calculation.
You may use your text, notes and/or internet resources.
Conic Section
Find the focus, vertex, and equation of a parabola.
Simplify and graph a circle.
Find the intersection points given 2 equations.
Probability
Counting Principle
Combinations
Permutations
Statistics & Graphs
Sampling method: random, self-selected, systematic, convenience
Recognize absolute value, quadratic, exponential & linear function.
Create a scatter plot of data, find the function with the calculator and predict outcome.
Sequence & Series
List terms in a sequence.
Write the rule & find the sum for both arithmetic & geometric (including infinite & finite).
Evaluate using summation notation.
Write and use the recursive function equations.
Trigonometry
Right triangle trigonometry. (SOH CAH TOA)
Convert radians to degrees or degrees to radians.
Find the arc length and the area of a sector of a circle.
Evaluate the function without and without a calculator (like cos 13pi/4) in radians & degrees.
Find the angle given sides of a triangle by using inverse trigonometry functions.
Translate graphs of sine, cosine & tangent.
