Read The Cartoon Guide to Calculus by Larry Gonick. Write a short summary of each chapter. A copy is also available in the SHS library. You may be able to pick up a very inexpensive used copy (eBay, Amazon, etc.) if that is what your family decide to do.

Formative Assessment Project Style
Write 5 lesson for 5 different calculus topics using any of the resources above. Include an explanation of the lessons AS WELL AS at least 3 solved example problems.
