Solve systems of equations with graphing
Graph functions expressed symbolically and show key features of the graph, by hand in simple cases and using technology for more complicated cases.
To graph a circle watch this video. The equations for a circle centered at the origin is x2+y2=r2. “r” is the radius of the circle. The equation for a circle centered at (h,k) is
(x-h)2+(y-k)2=r2

Steps:
1) Solve both equations for y if needed. Show your work and answer on paper.
2) Graph on the smarter balanced calculator. (To find the tool google for smarter balanced calculator.) Sketch the graph.
3) Estimate the intersection points using the trace feature.
In class assignment:
1) P642 example 4. Use the arrow next to the line to the equal sign to shade.
2) Solve by graphing p642 #’s 1,7,13,15,33, Check your answers for intersection points in the back.
3) Tonight’s assignment: p591 1,3,5,9,11,13 See examples given. Videos are available to help you as well.
