What are my learning targets?
Compare and contrast the properties of different inner and outer planets.
I can Identify major moons within our solar system.
I explain the solar system in terms of a scale model.
How will I learn them?
Planet Project- Students will pick a planet in groups of two, research it, and make a solar system tour sign. We will make a scale model of the solar system down 10th street, were students will present facts about their planet along the tour. The class will gain a new perspective of the true distance between planets.
Planet Movie- To be played to promote interest and discussion around planets.
