Long Term Place Based Learning

Outlined below are long term projects for throughout the year.  Our goal is to identify problems around Plant Science and use our class as a think tank to solve them.  As the instructor, I serve as learning coach who guides the inquiry process.  Students will construct ideas collectively rather than traditional classroom settings where the teacher presents each concept.     Students will work in highly structured teams, with both individual and group accountability to build their own body of knowledge.    These projects bring abstract concepts to life while increase motivation to learn.  Students will use inquiry to build a better understanding and generate more questions to drive the direction of learning.

Soil Builders- 

Students will give feedback throughout the process to the class, ed foundation, and Mr. Getchis.  They will follow the Think Tank Rubric for engineering, collaboration, and presenting.
