DO NOT bank monies at the Post Office even if the Post Office states they can accept the monies. Barclays cannot guarantee the money will end up within the schools account or that excessive charges are applied by the post office.
Schools with concerns over the loss of the ability to pay monies into the Post Office should consider Postal Cheque credit services, Cash collection service or Night safe options. These should all be considered when completing the Risk Assesment above.
Other ways of reducing cash should be considered such as Barclays 'Pingit' see Barclays presentation for more details or other cashless online systems such as Parentpay, Tucasi, ParentPay etc..
You may provide your Bank Account Number and Sort Code to parents requesting monies are paid directly into the schools bank account. The Star Accounts debtors system will be updated to include your account details in Version 5.90 to be released September 2015. Consider what information you require the parent to put in the description to make the payment meaningful i.e. debtor invoice number etc.. This facility can be turned on in 'School Details' by ticking 'BACS details on invoices'.
