Poetry Unit

This two to three-week unit will introduce students to poetry that links thematically to the essential questions of the freshmen curriculum. Poems may include pieces by both classic and contemporary poets who represent diverse voices and perspectives. Students will read and analyze multiple poems before practicing and reciting a poem of their choice from the Poetry Out Loud competition list.
