a. My Learning Plan

My Learning Plan is the online database that we use in North Reading to help educators track their professional growth. All Professional Development opportunities, for personal growth, North Reading Credit, or district initiated opportunities should be submitted for pre-approval in My Learning Plan (MLP).

Additionally, educators and administrators looking to offer professional development workshops, book studies, or other activities should submit these proposals through MLP.

Even if there is no reimbursement sought, everything should be entered into MLP.

There are several reasons for this extensive use of MLP:

• all district and partnership offerings are available in the MLP catalog
• the educator's professional growth is communicated to the administrators, increasing awareness and opportunities for sharing best practices
• the educator has a complete personal record of her professional development activities, including hours toward professional development points (PDPs) and NR credits
• budgetary and NR credit adjustments can be carefully monitored in order to make informed, equitable decisions
• district records of all professional development offerings are easily accessible
