Perspectives Unit

Questions / instructions for assignment on mythos and logos:

Tonight, spend 45 minutes working on answers to these questions:

On the articles by Davis and Armstrong that you read today in class:

1. How does each writer think about myth?

2. Do their opinions fit with our discussions/your understanding about myth?

On our discussions about mythos and logos so far in the entire Perspectives unit:

3. How are mythos and logos different?

4. How are mythos and logos similar?

Use all of your materials to answer these questions, quote from text.

- Monroe

- "Dreamtime"

- Davis

- Armstrong

- the video on paleoanthropology

- class notes

Write in ink or type formal answers for the 4 questions above

This is something that we could collect if we wanted (put it on a separate piece of paper, not on the back of something else)

Make sure you actively read...including looking up words in the text and writing concise definitions in the margins. Sometimes we assess whether or not you've done your homework by typing a sentence from the text with a word underlined and you have to define the underlined word (using your annotations on the article if you want!). For example: "Sir Francis Bacon was a polymath." And you would have to define polymath.
