KAP Applications

for next school year

The Kenyon Academic Partnership (KAP) lets high school students at 25 Ohio schools experience the joy and challenge of college curriculum. Although KAP has been around for decades, many administrative aspects of the program have been rolled into the recently created College Credit Plus (CC+) system in Ohio.

At New Albany High School we offer six KAP courses:

Introduction to Theater (DRAM 111)

Drawing (ARTS 102)

Introduction to Language & Literature (ENGL 103/104)

The Quest for Justice (PSCI 101/102)

Survey of Art, Part I and II (ARHS 110)

Introduction to American Studies (AMST 108)

Four important notes:

1. The State of Ohio now requires all prospective CC+ students to have a g.p.a. of 3.0 or better. If a student has a g.p.a. under a 3.0 they may arrange to submit a qualifying test score. Contact Mrs. Julie Horning if you would like to use the qualifying test score option (see chart below).

2. All students taking a College Credit Plus course next year must complete a "Letter of Intent."

3. This page is for students applying for a Kenyon College course (KAP). If you are applying for a Columbus State course do not use the instructions below. Instead, go on this page.

We will be using the online application system again this year called DualEnroll.

Helpful hints:

1. when prompted to enter your guidance counselor, please select Julie Horning

2. be sure you enter which teacher from this year will be completing your recommendation

3. on your status screen if you see anything highlighted in yellow, that means you still have a step to complete.

Returning users of DualEnroll

1. If you have previously used DualEnroll to apply for a Kenyon course, please follow these instructions:

2. go to https://kenyon.dualenroll.com/ and use your credentials from last year. Use "forgot my password" if you can't remember it. if your password re-set fails, click on the "helpdesk" in the top right corner. Submit a request. Once the DualEnroll Tech team gets back to you, follow 3-8 below.

First time users of DualEnroll

1. If you are applying to Kenyon for the first time through DualEnroll, please follow these instructions:

2. go to https://kenyon.dualenroll.com/ and create a user account

3. follow the prompts to enter or confirm the contact information for you and your parents/guardians

4. select your course (screenshot #3 below):

- once you select the correct course, click "register" (see screenshot #4 below)

5. click on the recommendation email drop down list and select your recommending teacher. This MUST be a teacher who knows you as a student in their class this academic year (i.e., one of your "current" teachers).

6. when asked to select guidance counselor, choose Mrs. Horning. (see screenshot #2 below)

7. If you are applying for more than one KAP Course, go back to courses and select the second course, click register, and select the recommending teacher from the drop-down list. This teacher will be sent an email with a link to a recommendation form.

8. check your "status" screen - if you see anything highlighted in yellow (like in screenshot #1 below) that means you still have a step to complete - if nothing is highlighted in yellow then you are all set and we will take it from there!
