Your Data and Practices

Most devices/accounts are compromised because of poor/uninformed security behaviors of 

individuals.  Insecure passwords, visiting sites that are setup to compromise data, downloading or 

opening unknown attachments, setting up accounts from untrustworthy applications - all are ways in 

which behaviors jeopardize security. 

Fast Tips for Better Security:

• Always use the device issued to you by the District for school work.  If your device is lost or stolen, we can lock or clear the device - as long as it is logged into iCloud and "Find my iPhone" enabled

• Do not enable auto login on your devices

• Do not download or open suspicious attachments/emails

• Read and understand the district policies on technology use

• Use District accounts, not private email/google, for schoolwork

• If using a shared device, always log out of accounts

• Do not use file sharing sites, pirate sites or circumvent the district's firewall

• Enable two-step verification on your school Google Account

• Do not give other staff members (or anyone else) your login credentials

• Do not let students use your device.
