50 Million Twinkies

Reuters Business Report - The Daily Digit is 50 million.

Fifty million Twinkies will hit shelves in stores around the country in the next two weeks.

It's a big, sweet come-back, with a new owner, after the previous owner went bankrupt and shut down production last year.

Demand is said to be overwhelming.There will be five times more Twinkies on the market during the first two weeks of the comeback than during the same two-week period before everything went under.

Factories are humming to meet that demand, but not all stores will get all products immediately, say the new owners.

Other brands that are also making the big come-back with Twinkies include CupCakes, Donettes, Zingers, HoHos, DingDongs, fruit pies and mini muffins. For more of a sugar rush: SnoBalls and SuzyQs will return in the next few months.
