June 14, 2026
Good afternoon,
We are pleased to say that the roads have been repaired enough for our buses to transport children beginning tomorrow with some adjustments to stops. Madison Elementary School will reopen on a normal schedule tomorrow, Monday, June 15, 2026.
The Department of Public Works recommends traveling with caution and allowing extra time for your commute, as some roads remain narrow and uneven in places. While most roads have reopened, Conway Road (Route 113) will remain closed between Boulder Road and Colby Hill Road.
Please note the following transportation updates:
Green and Blue Bus routes serving high school students will have some adjustments due to road closures and conditions. As a result, high school buses may run later than usual tomorrow.
For Blue Bus elementary students, any stops located between Colby Hill Road and Mooney Hill Road will be consolidated. Students should be picked up at either:
Conway Road and Boulder Road, or
Conway Road and Mooney Hill Road.
The transportation company has asked that all students be ready at their regularly scheduled pickup times. Bus routes may take longer than normal due to detours and road conditions, so we ask families for their patience as drivers safely navigate these temporary changes.
Thank you for your understanding, patience, and flexibility as our community continues to recover from the recent storm damage. We look forward to welcoming students and staff back to school tomorrow.
We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Madison Department of Public Works, Madison Fire Department, and Madison Police Department for their extraordinary efforts over the past several days. Their dedication, professionalism, and tireless work to restore roads and ensure the safety of our community have been truly remarkable. We are deeply appreciative of all they have done to help Madison recover and return to normal operations.
Sincerely,
Mike Whaland
