Health and Human Development

Welcome to Health + Human Development for 2026! 

Health is all about investigating Australia's level of health; and the inequalities experienced within the nation, as well as looking at how Australia compares with other countries. We investigate the reasons why some countries experience poorer health than Australia, and look at programs that are being implemented to better the health status of these populations groups.

To prepare yourself adequately for 2026, please note that there is an updated 8th edition of the textbook (in 2025). It is vital that you purchase this (as per booklist), as Study Design content and data has been revised last year. A digital version is also available.

You will need to complete the HHD Orientation booklet (provided in class). You will be required to complete all sections of the booklet, BOTH practice SAC's all EDROLO's mentioned throughout the booklet. Cue cards will be provided for you, as these will prepare you for adequate SAC revision.

Please make use of the time in the holidays to adequately prepare yourself for HHD, as the first SAC is very early in the term and we will NOT be going over the entire content upon return for 2026.
