ACTIVITY COORDINATOR
Congratulations! You have the honor of being chosen as the activity coordinator. This role is the most fun and exciting because you get to plan where your group is going. Discos, museums, musical events, sports, natural areas, adventure travel ... the sky is the limit!
Your Responsibilities:
Your job is to research typical activities of the cities that your group is going to visit.
You will be responsible for choosing and planning diverse activities for your group. You will need to obtain a description, a price, and a location for each place. This information will be recorded in your travel journal.
For each city, you must choose one of each of the following: museum, monument, sporting event, and musical outing. You will also want to research a special “adventure travel” activity unique to one of the cities that you visit. Remember, keep the group entertained! Since the Hispanic world is famous for “la siesta,” be sure to include some time for rest and relaxation.
Process:
Begin by researching your first city. Look at all the places that you can go but keep in mind the historical and cultural information behind each site. You want the group to learn something as well enjoy themselves.
You have been given a budget to work with. Using this guideline, book a few places to visit. Describe each one in a few sentences in your travel journal. Do not forget to write your journal in Spanish.
Learning Tips:
Vary your events!
Coordinate your activities with your group members so that you are generally staying within the same area.
Take advantage of the cultural opportunities within your region!
Remember to coordinate with the trip manager on proper clothe, and weather.
Also be sure to communicate with the Travel Agent about what places you'll be going, as it is there job to figure out how you get TO and FROM these places.
Also be sure to communicate with the Culinary person, as you could find some activities that include meals!
On the last slide/ day of your presentation be sure to give a reflection of how it went. What you do again, or different, where there were challenges...
