Welcome to the Manaia View Technology Centre website. Currently Year 7 & 8 students from eleven schools in and around Whangarei attend the centre for their Technology.
This website allows us to share and celebrate learning of our students across the different Technological areas. We also have important information for schools, parents and the bus company under the INFORMATION tab.

Many thanks to Whangarei Sunrise Rotary Club for their $600 donation towards the cost of student food bags.
Year 8 students from Manaia View, Te Kura o Otangarei and Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Rāwhitiroa have had the opportunity to participate in the Tāku Pūtea Kai (Food Bag) project where they have designed sustainable food bags for their whānau. Tasks include survey analysis; research, test and trial recipes; seeking feedback from peers; recipe modification; creating flowcharts and budgeting. Working through this exciting process supports each team of students to finalise their recipe and contents for their food bags.
Two key focuses students learnt about are Sustainability, and the benefits of eating different coloured fruits and vegetables. Recipes need to be able to be made without meat and include seasonal fruits and vegetables.
This project would not be possible if it was not for:
Whangarei Sunrise Rotary Club - a tremendous round of thanks goes to this club, not only for their financial support, but towards assisting with manpower on the day when bags are assembled.
Woolworths, Tikipunga - for their donation of sustainable shopping bags.
Whangarei District Council - for their donation of sustainable 'Love it Here' bags.
