(Note: If you have a team of 3, this will be the 3 by 3 by 20 Timeline)
On this project, all partners will meet and work together on the beginning and end of this project. If you want to delegate portions of the project to different team members after the first meeting, that's fine, but you have to all be together at the first meeting and for the final compilation/editing/rendering/production session. Decide now
This timeline will probably change as you work on the project. It is acceptable to change the final editing and rendering meeting to an earlier time if your team is fortunate enough to wrap things up earlier than planned, but all team members must be present for the final editing and rendering.
In a team of three, you may not have any work session that includes two people but not the third.
During work sessions, if two or three people are working together, every 20 minutes you must switch who is in control of the keyboard and mouse.
During all work sessions, you (individually or collectively) must take a break every 20 minutes. It can be a simple 1-minute break where you stop and look at something in the distance or stand up and walk around. You should also stretch your fingers and wrists during this break. Ergonomics studies and research on the ill effects of sedentary lifestyles both dictate that this is a healthy way to work at computers for extended amounts of time.
Find a good timer that will remind you to stop what you're doing on your computer and take a break. Check out "Time Out" for the Mac OS or "Breaker" for the Windows OS. You may choose another method of reminding yourself when 20 minutes are up (an app on your smartphone, a timer on your wristwatch, a kitchen timer, etc.), just so long as everyone in attendance agrees for that session.
