Traditionally, the Engineering Club has entered the 500 g autonomous sumo robot competition at Robogames. Traditionally, we have lost in the same competition for quite a number of years (although there was a 3rd place finish in 2016). We also spend only a few hundred dollars for 4 sumo robots, whereas winners spend up to $2000 on a single robot. We're not THAT crazy - we are there for the experience! However, we continue to be the only American college who even attempts to compete against sumo competitors who fly in from a dozen countries. For the 2017 Robogames - as usual - the 4 year engineering schools (UCB, SJSU) were absent since the competition's probably too hard for them.
Here are 2017 Robogames pictures!
Late night assembly and programming.
At the benches in Robogames. How many actually paid to get in? ;)
Our bunch of sumo robots ready for action.
Bored out of our minds waiting for the competition to start.
You can work for a month and it can be over very quickly!
