The sumo bot competition is held annually by RoboGames in California. The international event showcases teams from all around the world to competing in several different robotics events. The events range from 200lb, rc controlled combat robots to bartending robots. CCSF participated in the 500g sumorobots competition. This was our 4th year participating in the competition.
General Sumobot Rules:
1) Match is fought between two teams in a best out of 3 match
2) A round is won when one robot pushes other out of the ring
3) Driving out of the ring counts as a loss
4) Robots must be 500g or under
5) Robots must fit in a 10cmx10cm box (no height limit)
6) Robots must be autonomous
7) Robots are not allowed to have weapons

The baseplates were made using a CNC and Mill. This allowed precision for mounting the components. A sample CAD rendering is shown (not final product)
