The LGHS Counseling Program addresses needs of all students, including those who are identified as at-risk, and is available to students, parents, and teachers in academic, career and personal areas. These services increase the probability of student success.

- Information about careers and coordinate sophomore visits to Southern Oklahoma Technology Center
- College preparation information

- College Fair, college visits and college application information
- Provide information to students and parents regarding Alternative Education (Longhorn Academy)
- End-of-Instruction testing information to parents, teachers, and students
- AP Coordination – class enrollment, requirements, provide testing information to students and parents, order and administer AP exams
- 8th Grade Reading Proficiency Testing monthly and course proficiency testing (upon request)
- Counsel with students and parents about academic problems and tutoring
- Prepare academic achievement and scholarship assembly programs for students, parents, and community
