This feature allows you to import GED Ready scores alongside 2014 GED official scores, providing a streamlined way to track and manage GED Ready scores for students.
The purpose of integrating GED Ready scores is to provide users with access to the data.
GED Ready scores do NOT count as Alternative Placement scores and will NOT assign an Entry Educational Functioning Level (EFL) automatically. If you want to use GED Ready scores for placement purposes, you must:
Add an Alternative Placement (AP) assessment manually.
Assign an Entry EFL level based on the GED Ready scores.
Step 1: Understanding the Import File
GED XML files received from Pearson Vue and DiplomaSender contain both GED 2014 official scores and GED Ready scores. The system supports:
Automatic parsing of GED Ready scores.
Creation of a separate import file for GED Ready scores.
Step 2: Performing the Import
Automated Import
LACES automatically processes GED Ready scores from files provided by Pearson Vue. Separate import records are created specifically for GED Ready scores, distinct from GED 2014 official scores.
Manual Import
Go to the “All Assessments” area, open the "More" menu and select "Import GED Ready Assessments".
To perform a manual import:
Populate the template with student and GED Ready score data.
Use the "Import GED Ready Assessments" action to upload and process the file.
Step 3: Understanding How Students are Matched
The system matches records to students using:
Identifiers: Student ID, Person ID, External ID, or Pearson Student ID.
Details: Name, date of birth, or other demographic information.
Note: At least one identifier is required for matching. If insufficient data is provided, the import will fail.
Q: What happens if the import fails?
A: The system will flag errors during the import process. Correct the data in the CSV file and retry the import.
Q: Can I re-import records?
A: Yes, you can re-import records. The system checks for duplicates based on student identifiers and score data (e.g., subject, score, and test date):
New Record: If the student or test data does not already exist, it will be added as a new record.
Updated Record: If the student exists but the data differs (e.g., updated score or test date), the existing record will be updated.
Q: Do GED Ready scores count for Alternative Placement?
A: No, GED Ready scores do not count as Alternative Placement scores and will not assign an EFL level. Users must manually assign a level or import separate placement scores for Alternative Placement purposes.
