Verbs to know in Spanish 1
This is a list of all verbs that appear in the Expresate Spanish 1 textbook. Student will need to know the meanings as they will appear in activities, quizzes, tests, and daily work by chapters. Class will also learn how to conjugate each one of these verbs in the present tense.
The verb "Ser"
Ser means "to be". It is used with adjectives to describe people and things. It is also used in telling time and dates.
Greetings vocabulary Chapter 1.1
Chapter 1 is about greetings and introductions. You will learn how to ask someone's name, ask how they are, and where they are from. You will also know how to say what your name is, how you are, and where you are from. This organizer is designed to go in your interactive notebook to help you learn your vocabulary.
Telling Time and numbers Chapter 1.2
You will learn numbers from 1-31 in order to tell time and maneuver through a Spanish calendar, phone numbers, and email addresses.
Numbers sheet
List of numbers in Spanish from 1-1000. You will need a list of numbers for your interactive notebook. I will provide one in class but you may print out this color copy for visual appeal.
Adjectives to describe people Ch 2.1
Go to the following website to get a list of voacabulary of adjectives from your Spanish 1 textbook:quizlet.com/15822695/expresate-1-chapter-2-vocab-1-flash-cards/ On this Quizlet website you can listen to the pronunciation, print flashcards, play learning games, take tests, etc. Use the download button below if you would rather print the list without going to the website.
Me Gusta (I like) Chapter 2.2
In the 2nd half of chapter 2 you will learn how to express likes and dislikes. Go to pages 56 and 62 of the Expresate textbook to reference vocabulary and grammar.
Verbs Chapter 3.1
In this chapter, Expresate page 82, you will learn to talk about what activities you like to do and how to ask others what they like to do. You will also learn how to say you want to do something.
The verb "querer"
Querer means "to want". Here is the conjugation of the verb. Notice how the spelling changes in the shape of a "boot".

In the 2nd half of chapter 3 you will learn more verbs, how to say how often you do things depending on the weather.

The verb "jugar"
Jugar means "to play". It is used with sports and games. (Tocar means "to play" also but is used only with music.)
