ELF

The Lanesville Community Schools Embracing Lanesville Families (ELF) program is off to a great start. We have food items being brought to school each day and money going into our ELF jar. Please check my website calendar tab to see which food items are being collected daily. The food collection ends on Friday, December 9th. Monetary donations may be sent to school until Tuesday, December 20th. We are setting a goal of $150 for our class. We will have different things we will get to do when we reach these amounts.

Update: Our class donated a total of $265.00 to ELF and has earned a PJ Day, bring a stuffed animal to school, and game time. We will have our Reward Day on Monday, December 19th. Also the first grade classes donated over 300 food items. Thank you for your donations. Our ELF program will help several families in our community have a Merry Christmas.

Hour of Code

Nationally, the Hour of Code takes place the first week in December. Classrooms all around the country and the world stop everything and code. Lanesville Community Schools is participating this year on Thursday, December 8th from 9:20-10:20 grades K-12. Our class will be using Code.org for the first half hour then students may select to code using Kodable, Scratch Jr., or the Foos. If you are not familiar with coding please try one of the apps on your first grader’s tablet screen #6.

Ugly Christmas Sweater Day

Students are invited to participate in Ugly Christmas Sweater Day Friday, December 16th. Don’t have an ugly Christmas sweater-create one of your own. The uglier the better!

EARLY DISMISSAL DAYS

Please note that Monday, December 19th and Tuesday, December 20th are EARLY DISMISSAL Days. We will be using Friday dismissal times.
