LUHS Virtual Learning Classroom

If you would benefit from individualized, self-paced coursework in a structured and supported environment, then the LUHS virtual learning classroom is an excellent choice for you.

Upon entrance into the Virtual Learning Academy, all students meet with the academy coordinator to discuss individual strengths, short term and long term goals, including post-secondary planning. A credit map is created to help each student plan their path towards graduation and beyond. Courses are selected based upon student strengths, credit needs and goals, and a pacing guide is created to facilitate a path for success.

Lakeland Union High School's virtual learning classroom offers students 1:1 guidance from experienced staff in an environment organized for student success. With the highest degree of support within the Virtual Learning Academy, this setting is excellent for students seeking assistance in an alternative path towards graduation.

How do I get scheduled in the virtual learning classroom?

Prior to moving forward at the school-level, it is strongly recommended for any student interested in online learning to begin this conversation at home with your parent or guardian. With that complete, the process for placement within the virtual learning classroom begins with the students' academic counselor.

  • Schedule a meeting with your academic counselor
    • Discuss your plan and reasoning for seeking placement in the virtual learning classroom
  • Your counselor will walk you through the necessary paperwork and scheduling for placement
  • Upon approval from your counselor and parent/guardian, you will meet with the virtual learning coordinator to receive an introduction to the online program as well as to complete credit maps and pacing guides
