Parent Support Meetings allow parents to learn more about the needs of gifted children while networking with other parents of gifted children. Our Parent Support Meetings occur once a quarter on Wednesday evenings in the library. At each meeting, we present a topic of relevance to our gifted parents reflecting current research about issues related to gifted children. After the presentation, parents mingle with each other to discuss with each other how the presented information relates to their children. Light refreshments are served.
Objectives:
Establish an environment in which parents of gifted children can receive support, guidance, and professional advice through discussion with other parents and teachers.
Develop skills to nurture the self-concept and social/emotional development of talented children and their families.
