Private Music Study

Private music lessons are not required, but we would like to encourage parents and students to consider private music study. These individual lessons give students the opportunity to get personalized coaching and individualized instruction. Private lessons also allow students to study with an instructor who specializes on a particular instrument and can share a high level of expertise with the student. Parents are encouraged to seek out teachers who have an accredited music degree from a university and should ask a prospective teacher for their credentials and teaching experience. These professionals usually charge between $20-30 per half hour music lessons. Lessons can be set up on a weekly or monthly basis depending on the instructor. Some teachers even have a recital once or twice a year for all students in the studio to perform.
