Career Scope Reference Guide - Interpret Your Scores - Click HERE
CareerScope is an interest and aptitude assessment offered by the Eastern Center for Arts and Technology. This assessment has two main sections: an interest inventory, which asks several questions about tasks associated with various careers to gauge how appealing those tasks sound to the evaluee; and a section with seven exercises to determine how well the evaluee is suited to certain career paths. CareerScope then combines the interest and aptitude scores to make recommendations for a career pathway where the evaluee is likely to succeed.
Invitations to take CareerScope are sent to a student’s email with a unique link they can use to access the assessment. After completing CareerScope, the student can use the same link to access their assessment report which will give detailed advice on how to interpret the results, as well as links to resources to delve deeper into exploration of the recommended career pathways.
Here are the instructions:
CareerScope will ask the student to create a password they can use to sign back in if they do not complete the test, or to come back and review their report. There is NOT a pre-existing password like there was in the old portal.
Once signed in to CareerScope, the students will need to complete the seven exercises under, "Assess Your Aptitudes," AND the interest inventory under, "Discover Your Interests," to complete the assessment. They can take these in whatever order they would like.
Some of the exercises are timed and a timer will show on the screen. This does not mean it is a pass/fail test. It is just measuring the student's natural aptitude.
Students can switch to Spanish, if desired, by clicking the globe icon at the top of their screen.
Upon completion of CareerScope the student will have the opportunity to view and download their report.
