How to Plan Your Day (Emma's Perspective)

Creating a schedule can be difficult! Especially if you are used to having one provided for you. The key to creating a successful schedule is time management. This means making sure that you complete your work for the day, as well as daily activities. When creating a schedule it is important to remember that you should be focusing 5-7 hours per week, per class. Also, remembering to create breaks and take time for yourself is going to help you throughout the day. Remember to create flexible schedules because sometimes life happens. Below are tips on creating schedules.

Start off by creating a constant sleep schedule. Aim for 8 hours of sleep per night. This will help you stay on track by creating a constant routine and ensure you are ready for the day.

Create a plan for the general order that you are going to complete your classes. By doing this, you are creating a flow that insures you are completing all of the course work for the day.

Try creating a 50-1o plan. This means you study for 50 minutes, with no distractions, and then take a 10-minute brain break. During this break you can do whatever you would like: walk, watch tv, listen to music, anything but studying.

Remember that it takes a while to find what works best for you. Don't give up if your first attempt doesn't work. I have to edit and change my schedule all the time; it will always be an ongoing process.
