- Search for Apps. The Search bar is at the top of the screen. Just tap on the ‘Google Play’ and start typing your search.
- Browsing Categories. If you are not sure what you are looking for, you can tap on one of the categories just below the search bar to look for a more specific type of app to download.
- Download an app. Click on the app you are interested in. You can get more information about the app here. If you still want to download it, tap the install button. If you are looking at a book, movie, music, or other media there is another option to get a small sample that allows you to get a preview.
- Uninstall apps. Click on the app you want to uninstall (where you installed the app), then tap on the uninstall button. Some of the apps that came with the phone will not uninstall.
- View your apps. Tap on the three lines next to the search bar, then tap on my apps and games. Here you can look at apps that need to be updated, your installed apps, and you library that has all the apps you've downloaded and uninstalled. To get rid of these, you just have to tap the x next to the app.

Free vs Pay. Not all the apps on Google Play/Play Store are free. To tell the difference when you are scrolling through the apps, if there is a price in the bottom right corner of the app box, you have to pay for the app. Also, when you click into an app you have to pay for, the ‘install’ is replaced with the price.
Ratings. Not all the apps on Google Play are very good. To see what other people think about the app, you can either look at the star rating below the app name when scrolling through apps, or when you are looking at that specific app, you can see the rating and how many people have reviewed it just below the install button. Here, you can also look and read some of the reviews left by people.
