Camera and Photo Editing

Camera

You can take open the camera app with or without unlocking your phone. Open the camera app if your phone is unlocked, or tap and drag the camera icon on the lock screen to open it without unlocking your phone.

Taking photos. To take a photo, tap the round button in the bottom middle of the screen. Or you can take a picture by clicking the volume button (either up or down, both take a picture.
Adjusting Flash. Tap on the lightning bolt to adjust flash. You can change it to auto flash (camera decides if flash is needed. Has a little A next to the lightning bolt), flash on (flash always on for every picture. Just the lightning bolt), or flash off (a slash through the lightning bolt).
Taking a video. Tap on the button to the left of the picture button (it has a red dot). Once you click this it will start recording. To stop hit the middle button (with the square), to pause tap the pause button, and to take a picture while videoing, tap the camera button.
Viewing pictures/videos you have taken. Tap on the circle to the right of the middle button on the bottom (it should have a small picture of your most recent picture. This will allow you to view the pictures you have taken. Swipe right (and left) to view more of your pictures. To get back to the camera tap the back button. You can also view the pictures you have taken through Gallery or photos. To play a video tap on the play button.

Share the picture you take. There are several ways of doing this. One way is to find the picture you want to share, then tap on the three dots that are connected by two lines, then picking the way you want to share it (email, messages, exc.) and choosing the person. Another way is to enter the app that you want to share the picture or video through and clicking on the paper clip, then finding the picture you want.
Additional features. If you swipe to the right, the camera will pop up with several different option such as panorama, virtual shot (a sort of 3D way of taking a picture), hyperlapse, and pro (allows you to adjust a lot of settings such as light and tone). If you swipe left you can change the filter on the camera (such as change in to black and white or vintage). You can always change the filter later though through editing.

Cool Tricks TO Try

Zoom easier. Tap and slide the camera button from right to left to zoom in and out. You can also pinch fingers together (zoom in) or apart (zoom out).

Take burst shots. If you want to take a whole bunch of pictures in a row, just tap and hold the camera button. It will take photos in rapid succession.

Switch camera direction quickly. Instead of tapping the small button at the top of the screen to switch the direction of the screen. You can just swipe down, and it will switch the direction of the camera.

Photo Editing

When looking at a picture in gallery or photos you can edit photos. Your phone has its own editing system built in. However, it may not have everything that you want to do for editing. In this case, you can find apps on an app store that can do this for you. Other apps are valuable for doing things such as teeth whitening. You can pay for editing apps to get more advanced editing. The free ones can do a lot though too. A few examples of apps you can get are Free Movie Editing Pro (No Ads) ($1.99), or Photo Editor Pro.

Cropping. Tap on the square with the clockwise arrow. Here you can focus in on certain parts of the photo (change the size of the photo) and rotate or flip the photo.
Effects. Tap on the three linked circles. Here you can change how your photo is displayed (black and white, color tones, etc.). If you don’t find the one that you quite like, then scroll to the end, then you can download new ones.
Stickers. Tap on the smiley face with the T (This symbol could be a small hill with a pen). This allows you to add all sort of fun stickers. You can add more stickers by tapping on the + in the toolbar and downloading more.
Drawing. Tap on the pen with the palette. From here, you can draw on the photo with 4 different sorts of pens (by tapping on the pen to bring up the options). You can also change the color by tapping on the color you want. You can make a custom color by tapping on the rainbow at the bottom.
Sharing. This is the three dots connected by the two lines. This is the universal symbol for sharing, and if you want to share something else. This is the button you use to share you photos or creations.
Deleting. Tap the trash can if you want to delete a photo.
Adding Text. When you are editing a photo, a large T will appear in the toolbar. If you click on it, you add text. You can change the Style of the text by clicking on the Aa, the alignment of the text by clicking on the middle button, and the highlight behind the letters by tapping on the right button. You can also change the color of the highlight/text.

Editing Videos. You can edit a video by trimming the video to show only what you want, you can change the filter on it, you can use the touch up effect to touch up faces, you can add stickers, and music to the video.
