In March our focus will be:
Literacy: 1st graders will focusing on two units called, Tell me a Story and Grow, Plants, Grow! We will learn about theme in a story and the moral or lesson the author is trying to teach us from the story. We will continue to build fluency in reading as well as retell what we are reading. We will also study and read about plants and what they need to live and grow.

We will be writing many different types of writing including non-fiction writing, journal writing and narrative writing.

Math: We are working on double digit subtraction with regrouping.

Science: Our plant and animal needs unit will pair with our Reading unit and we will be exploring and observing characteristics of plants and animals. We will have lots of fun growing plants and taking care of them.
Social/Emotional Learning: Students are practicing and reviewing being Positive, Respectful, Responsible and Safe each day. We continue to build on problem solving skills and building relationships with others.
