In February our focus will be:
Literacy: 1st graders will work with informative, realistic fiction, fantasy, and opinion text selections centered around "How do things in nature change?" We will use text features to help us locate information and story structure to make and confirm inferences, predictions, central idea, and the author's point of view.

Math: We will be working on building our strategies to add multidigit numbers. We will also be working with money.

Science: We will be working on learning about space systems. We will be looking for patterns in sun movements, moon phases, and constellations. We will work to understand why these patterns exist.
Social/Emotional Learning: Our learning focuses on using kind words and kind acts. We continue to practice PRRS each day and continue to work on being a good citizen in our community and world.
