August & September

Here is what we are studying in August and September:

Reading and writing: We are focused on oral narrative and explanatory informative writing. We are learning the writing process, too. For reading we are working on learning how to retell and how to ask questions in our first two Into Reading Modules: Nice to Meet You! and My Family, My Community.

Math: We are working on understanding different ways to show our thinking. We are using circle drawings, partners, patterns, equations, vertical forms, and math mountains to solve story problems and missing addend problems.

Social Studies This unit is about family and US traditions. We will be learning about traditions that are tied to holidays and what traditions our family has!

We have been learning a lot about our classmates, school expectations, schedules, and routines as well!
