Over the course of this year, I will be teaching a social emotional learning curriculum called Second Step in several grade levels. This is an evidence based program that has been proven effective in helping students learn how to recognize and regulate emotions, have empathy for others, how to problem solve and use learning strategies, as well as decreasing aggression. Part of this program includes follow up in the classroom from your child's classroom teacher, with quick games and activities throughout the week, for extra practice. Another part is a home component. I will periodically update this page so you are aware of what lesson topic is being taught in your child's classroom, if applicable.
