I am originally from Ohio, and go back often to visit friends and family. I moved out to Colorado, due to the shortage of Mental Health Providers in this state, that still exists today. I studied School Psychology at Cleveland State University in Ohio, and I've worked in this role since I graduated in 2010. I've served various populations pre-k to 21, primarily students with disabilities. Outside of work, I enjoy physical activities [social dancing, hiking, acroyoga], crafting/DIY, music, reading, gardening, and attempting new recipes. One last thing - I have the worlds cutest dog. (Ok, I might be a little biased...)
I trained Roxie to be a therapy dog. We are certified through Denver Pet Partners and have volunteered at various settings over the past 3 years. We currently volunteer at a private group home for women with dementia and at Jeffcom 911 visiting dispatchers and first responders. If you'd like to hear more about DPP, ask me anything! I love getting people started on the path to volunteering with their furry friends!
