Rewards

As part of our PBIS program, students can earn Tribe Tickets for displaying the West Lane Elementary Code of Conduct throughout the school day. There are many rewards that students can turn these tickets in for, and these are the two specifically for Music:

Show 'N Tell Pass (15 tickets)

Students that wish to bring in or play an instrument (with parent/guardian permission), or share their favorite song from a CD (song must be appropriate for school) must turn in the appropriate number of tickets to their classroom teacher, and then arrange a day with Mrs. Ellison for them to bring their instrument or be given time to play. The student will be given 5 minutes to talk about their instrument or music they wish to share.

**CDs must be brought in advance for Mrs. Ellison to preview the content. To play an instrument for the class, the student needs to have played it before, preferably in private lessons, but not always necessary. Show 'N Tell is not a pass to 'try out' an instrument they like in the classroom.

Rock Session Pass (75 tickets)

Students may turn in the appropriate number of tickets to their classroom teacher and then will have a time arranged to come to the music room to 'Rock Out' on the drumset with Mrs. Ellison for 10 minutes. Only one student may have a Rock Session at a time; no class sessions. Students will be loaned a pair of drumsticks and a set of headphones for hearing protection.

Students who earn these rewards and who have turned in their Media Permission Slips may be asked to have their picture taken to send to their parent/guardian, teacher, and for possible use on the website. Parents/Guardians will be asked prior to use.
