Ingleside is proud to be able to offer Dual Credit courses, meaning a student can take a class that counts for both high school and college credit for the same course. These courses are designed to assist students in obtaining college credit by successfully taking the actual college course; therefore, the courses are very rigorous. Students who wish to take Dual Credit (college and HS credit) coursework can anticipate college-level expectations. One should be prepared to accept challenging content. Student taking Dual Credit coursework are also required to meet all college eligibility criteria before being able to take a course. Student must qualify for acceptance by completing testing, registration and application requirements by the college deadlines.
Dual Credit course work may transfer to other colleges as per the individual university's policies. Students should research how the receiving college or university will recognize their Dual Credit courses.
Should a student choose to withdraw from a Dual Credit course, the student will have to formally withdraw from the college and may lose fees paid. The student must follow all college deadlines. If a student drops a Dual Credit course prior to the completion of the course, they are only withdrawn from the college course enrollment. The high school enrollment continues with the transfer of grades to a regular, unweighted, course for course completion. Grades previously earned will be transferred to the regular class, without weighted value. This policy includes all Dual Credit Classes.
If the course is only offered on the Del Mar College campus, the student is responsible for transportation to and from the college.
Be aware that the College's curriculum offered to special needs student will not be modified.
