Sofia is a MSc in Physics, with a specialisation in Experimental Solid State Physics from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. She started working at IFIMUP in 2013 as an extra curricular intern during her BSc in the topic of thermoelectric materials and devices simulations. Her research interests later evolved into Bi-Te and Sb-Te topological insulator materials and magnetic heterostructures for spintronics based on these exotic semiconductors. Currently, she is a PhD student working in collaboration with Imperial College London.
