Advanced Energy MaterialsSofia Gonçalves has a master's degree in Physics Engineering from the Faculty of Sciences and Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto. During her master's thesis she studied materials with negative thermal expansion and the customization of thermal expansion by reducing the size of the material. Since 2022, Sofia is a PhD student in the MAP-Fis doctoral program, and she is currently working on the topic of fabrication of photoanodes for photoelectrochemical cells for the production of green hydrogen, using strategies such as nanostructuring and implementation of co-catalysts to increase the efficiency of these photoanodes.
Research Topics: Nanomaterials, anodization, electrodeposition, high resolution micro-structural analyses.
