Henrique's current research focuses on the synthesis of 2D MXene flakes to integrate in neuromorphic devices for memory applications. The synthesis of MXenes is obtained by etching the MAX phase precursor, allowing the fine-tune of its proprieties like the interlayer spacing, oxidation state, surface terminations and band-gap, which are monitored through XRD, Raman Spectroscopy, SEM, TEM and XPS.
